It all started Wednesday Night, Me and Sandie went to see Michael Buble in concert at the BJCC. Great show !! Then Friday night We celebrated Riley's Birthday with a sleepover party. He invited 4 friends only 3 could make it. We started off with some pizza from Hungry Howie's, Riley's Favorite. Then we headed to the movie theatre to see Beverly Hills Chiahuha, cute movie, but not what I expected. Then headed back to the house for some cake and ice cream, a little charades and another Movie (Iron Man). They all were asleep by midnight :)
Saturday Ole Miss vs Alabama another close game, but a win is a win :) No big tailgaiting cause of the sleepover party.
Sunday Kentuck Arts Festival. Spent a few hours in the morning walking around and taking in the arts. The kids got to build bird houses, we carved in a sand mold for some metal trivets, Sandie carved a metal bowl that turned out pretty cool.
Sunday afternoon we celebrated Kacie's birthday, had an all Girl (and Dad) Pink party. Sandie painted faces and the girls decorated little door hanger things. Kacie was a little grumpy to start off and warmed up pretty quickly, then didn't want to blow out her candles.
We were all exhausted by Sunday evening.

We had the Family celebration of Riley's and Kacie's Birthday last night. Looked like christmas, there were so many gifts. Kacie got several dolls, one that even talks and moves (thanks Grandma !!) and Riley got Star Wars stuff and a few Lego kits. They both got lots of clothes, including a houndstooth sweater vest for Riley, and a pair of black leather knee boots for Kacie. We will have the Kids party next weekend, Riley will have a few guys spend the night Friday night, we'll do pizza and a movie. Kacie will have an all pink girls party on Sunday afternoon.

Wow what an ugly ballgame. But... a win is a win !
It was a beautiful day for a ballgame. Tailgating was tons of fun. and as usual a ton of great food!! Kacie was feeling sick and feel asleep on the quad and slept until the third quarter. Riley went to the game with his Poppy, and had a great time. Riley got a hold of the camera a took some photos while we were tailgaiting! Roll Tide Roll!

Today Riley, Kacie, Grammie, Grandma and myself (Sandie) went on a "four- hour cruise" (you sing the tune). We went on the Bama Belle, which sails up and down the Black Warrior River, and went through the Oliver Lock and Dam. It was rather interesting to see how the lock works. We went in, and the doors closed with a lot of squeaking (very reasuring???) and about 30 feet of water was let out! Then we went on our merry way. We sailed and sailed for miles. The river is very curvy and it was amazing to see how the large barges get through...well some have trouble. The captain told Riley, Kacie and myself that the barge ahead of us did not start turning half a mile away, thus it was sort of stuck. He ended up turning the boat around early. We went back in the lock and a massive amounts of water came swirrling in to raise us up 30 feet. Kacie consumed a container of Pringles and Riley ate about the same amount of junk. It was so relaxing that both kids fell asleep on the way home in the car. There is a six-hour tour coming up in November...anyone interested? :-)

Kacie attended her first Alabama Football Game, she sat with Grandma. Riley got to go and sat with Poppy. After the game Kacie got a little upset with Grandma when she found out Poppy took Riley down to see Big Al. Both of them made it till the end of the game. Pre game tailgateing consisted of Dreamland Bar B Q and Crawfish Etouffe.

What a great way to start off the 2008 Football Season!!
We had a great trip to Atlanta with Blake, Susan and Susan's Parents.
Visited the Georgia Aquarium, Really cool aquarium. Got to see part of the DragonCon Parade, lots of interesting people dressed up like their favorite SciFI character. And of course enjoyed the great win over the Clemson (another reason to hate orange) Tigers. Both me and Sandie had beer spilled on us. YUCK!! And got pushed onto the MARTA train by the mob of people after the game. What a great trip!!!

This past weekend we went to the beach for our Fifth Annual Thunder On The Gulf trip. For those that don't know what this is, it's an offshore boat racing event that is held every August. Think NASCAR on the water !!! 3 of my dad's brothers and their families were also there, so it was like a little family reunion.
I got to try out a couple of new toys, an underwater camera housing that was a lot of fun taking pictures in the pool and an 8 foot parafoil power stunt kite that literally pulled me down the beach.
Riley and Kacie enjoyed swimming in the pool. Riley went crab hunting and caught about 20 little crabs. Of course we let them go!!
